Cruises to the Canary Islands are very popular due to the mild climate in winter.
The journey takes 4 to 5 hours by plane, and one can expect sunshine and mild temperatures even in winter. There are two routes for Canary Island cruises: one heads to Madeira, Morocco, or the Spanish mainland to Cadiz.
The Canary Islands offer travelers a diverse yet rugged nature, while Madeira is a very green island, ideal for hiking the levadas. Morocco adds oriental elements to these trips, and Cadiz exudes Spanish charm.
Typically, Canary Island cruises start from Gran Canaria or Tenerife. Optional arrival and departure packages can be booked, but it is also possible to travel independently. Both islands offer the option to book a shuttle or use public buses.
On Tenerife, bus line 111 connects the airport with the port, with buses running every 20 minutes.
On Gran Canaria, several bus lines operate from the airport to the port. We used bus line 60, and from the Santa Catalina station, you can already see the ships, with an additional 15-20 minute walk to the terminal.
